"Are you ready, Spider-Man fans?" Billions of digital special effects images are coming at you. Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for this dazzling, massive, and fast-paced visual feast.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), which won the 2018 Oscar, has become a distant memory. In Brooklyn, the protagonist Miles Morales is a high school student who becomes Spider-Man after being bitten by a spider. He joins forces with others to fight against evil forces. Miles forms a mentorship with Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) and becomes friends and falls in love with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), also known as Spider-Gwen. The screenplay by Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman depicts a challenging storyline, while the directing skills of Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman make the whole story easy to understand.

The production team of the new film has changed. The director and writers have changed, making the film very different from its predecessor in terms of dialogue, characters, and plot. The dialogue has become more modern, sounding like street kids discussing life, parental misunderstandings, and their conflicting feelings towards others. There are many minor characters in the film, some of the plot branches are very interesting, while others are not as appealing. Nevertheless, the visuals in the film are stunning and almost all worth seeing.

The villain character, The Spot (played by Jason Schwartzman), blames Miles for his physical deformity and vows to take everything from him. Spider-Man's mission is clear: to stop him. However, other Spider-People from the Spider-Verse bring chaos. Led by Miguel O'Hara (played by Oscar Isaac), they want to take a different approach to save the multiverse. They have intense conflicts, but the disagreements between egotistical superheroes hinder the completion of their mission. Miles declares, "Everyone tells me how my story should go. But I don't want to do what others want, I want to do my own thing!"

The visual effects of the film are amazing and captivating. The colors are vibrant, like pop art paintings, blending old-fashioned paintings with futuristic animation effects. At the same time, the action scenes are thrilling, with people swinging on spider webs, throwing punches and kicks, leaving a deep impression on the audience. The subtitles are also large, like in a comic book, immersing the audience more into the story. The author jokingly says that it seems like it took drugs or the help of a psychiatrist to create this, but overall, this text makes people feel "awesome!" It provides a dazzling and breathtaking sensory experience.

The 2-hour and 20-minute film is like a bizarre yet exciting MTV music video. The colors, costumes, and settings are outstanding, leaving people in awe. The visual, digital, audio, and animation effects on the screen constantly stimulate the senses, making it irresistible. When the uplifting emotions and energetic bass and soaring strings come, the happiest soul, funk, and rock songs burst out, as if jumping out of the Spotify charts. These elements come together to give the audience a stunning multi-sensory experience.

The film not only showcases exaggerated, self-indulgent grand scenes but also explores deep emotions. These emotional expressions are precious, like calm oases that give the audience a moment of tranquility amidst the storm of visual impact. The first 40 minutes of setup allow the audience to experience the storm of fantasy and illusions, but as the film progresses, young viewers may become more focused than adult viewers, who may become exhausted.

The entire cast conveys more drama through their voices, tones, and intonations than actors in live performances can achieve in real life. The new additions to the cast include Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jorma Taccone, and Amanda Stenberg, bringing more vivid elements to this work.

Exaggeratedly speaking, this cutting-edge animation is as genius as the genre itself. But for kids, teenagers, and people in their twenties who grew up with MTV, comic books, and TikTok, this is not an exaggeration. This is their truth. This is their holy grail. This is how they perceive superhero fables. Billions of images are thrown at their eyes until they are dizzy and ecstatic.

It may be an exaggeration to say that this cutting-edge animation technology is the most outstanding in its genre. But for kids, teenagers, and people in their twenties who grew up with MTV, comic books, and TikTok, this is not an exaggeration. This is their reality, their holy grail. It represents their generation's view of what superhero fables should be like. Dazzling images are thrown at their eyes until they are disoriented and intoxicated.
